I have been working in the infertility and pregnancy loss field for over twenty years, and I still find it both challenging and rewarding. I was completing the requirements for my license as a marriage and family therapist in California when I started experiencing fertility problems myself. Along the way, I had IVF (with and without donor egg) and several pregnancy losses (including two ectopic pregnancies). Personal experience deepened my understanding of the emotional and psychological impact of these types of struggles.

When I resolved my own fertility problems I began to specialize in work with patients struggling with the emotional impact of fertility issues, pregnancy loss and abortion. It was through this work that I was inspired to write Unspeakable Losses: Healing from Miscarriage, Infertility and Abortion (http://www NULL.amazon NULL.com/Unspeakable-Losses-Miscarriage-Abortion-Pregnancy/dp/068817390X), which was published in hard cover in 1998 byWW Norton, and later issued in paperback in the UK by Penguin in 2000, and went into paperback in the US in 2001 published by HarperCollins.

In addition to my private practice, I have screened hundreds of Egg Donors and Gestational Carriers and conducted consultations for Egg Donor Recipients, Donor Insemination Recipients, and Donor Embryo Recipients for fertility clinics and individual patients nationwide.

I am an active member of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and a long time professional member of both RESOLVE and AAMFT.

Most recently, I have co-founded the Center for Donor Conception Support (http://donorconceptionsupport NULL.com), a nationwide organization dedicated to supporting families conceived with the help of egg, sperm or embryo donation.  I am currently located in Boulder, Colorado.
